- Canadian infantrymen travelled through houses in Ortona avoiding the streets

- Canadians used a new tactic called “mouse

-holing” o Mouse-holing involved using weapons to breach the walls of the houses since most houses had conjoined walls

- 1375 casualties - With the help of the Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry (1 of the 3 Regular Force infantry regiment) German troops retreated from the city
